About

Helen Andrews is a singer-songwriter, composer and music teacher from the south of England. As one half of the folk duo, Amalthea, she co-wrote and recorded an EP and album and performed at various venues and festivals, supporting artists such as Phil Beer (Show of Hands) and Seth Lakeman. As a solo artist, Helen has performed for Pete Best (The Beatles) and alongside Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull). The opening track from Helen’s second solo album features a guest performance by Anderson.

Helen enjoys working with artists across different genres and backgrounds. She has worked with Pan Jazz International, and the UK electronica band, Glow, recording vocals for their song Open Your Heart. She has also performed with singer-songwriter Dawud Wharnsby and most recently has been collaborating with writer and poet Natsu Hirukawa.

Helen now lives in Malta, where she continues to compose and teach music in primary schools. She writes music and songs for her students but also encourages them to compose and experiment with sound too.

Helen is currently writing her third solo album.
